Last year I was given a book by Rebecca Skloot, author of the best-selling book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, given to me by my mother-in-law for my 28th birthday. Over that birthday weekend I engaged in one of my passions a scientific exploration in the generation of bioethics and genetics studies. I found the story captivating and riveting invoking excitement and refocusing my drive to stay in the biotech field.
Today I was reading through my various daily websites and ran across this article on fast company. If you have ever been interested in bioethics, research or genetics you should take a look at this article it is a great read and explains some of the details behind patient consent and tissue/cell sample laws and regulations or lack thereof.
