Visual Insights: FOB-The Eddie Huang interview

So I’m taking a breather from editing. Taking in my surroundings, looking at twitter and catching up on the culture. You know  how sometimes you just have to take a look and scroll through the gram and let yourself be bombarded by the images of life in the digital era.

So while I was on my editing breather I went through my normal subscriptions on youtube and came across the Eddie Huang interview. I did not know that he wrote the book Fresh off the Book: A Memoir which influenced the show of the same name.  FOB, for those that do not know,  is an abbreviation for Fresh off the Boat that speaks to those of immigrate communities that have just reached America. For one I did not know that the show Fresh off the Boat was based on a memoir. I can understand some of the inaccuracies and notions but there are so much more reasons to be real. Take a look and listen to the full interview it is something that will make you think about the media that we consume.

The interview was insightful as it gave more insight into the TV show and the thoughts from the author which it is based on.  I would have to agree with the author if a story of my life was made and show on TV I do not think that I could watch it would just be too surreal. I did enjoy the candid argument that was made for the judicial system and how stereotypes and communities should be more inclusive. Take a look and listen to the full interview it is something that will make you think about the media that we consume.

So as always walk with me on this journey with a small sweater and some headphones.
